We are proud to annouce a new project for Writers Bloc called Hell Yeah Writers Bloc. It will be our home for a wonderful bunch of visual and literary lunacy on Tumblr. You’ll find loads of great stuff from cartoonists, zinesters, illustrators, bricoleurs, and much more. And we’re all about creating a space for new and emerging writers.

And we thought who better to head up this project than Amy Maynard? She's mad about comics and art scene culture as well as being one of the co-organisers of the Inkers and Thinkers comics studies symposium, and has worked with Carclew in South Australia. She's also currently a Express Media South Australian Representative, and has written for Sequart, What Culture, Pop Matters, FringeReview On the Record, Comics Forum and The Australian Comics Journal. To say we are excited to have her on board would be an understatement.

She's based in Adelaide, and currently hammering out a PhD on modern Australian comic book production.

We reckon that Hell Yeah Writers Bloc will add an exciting new dimension to what we do at Writers Bloc. We’ve got some exciting things lined up for the tumblr but if you're busting, you can have a sticky beak here. Submissions are now open and we’re on the lookout for even more awesome visual, comics etc, so have a good read of the Submission Guidelines and then get in touch at amy@writersbloc.net
