What’s My Scene: Write Here

Each Tuesday, as part of the Book Nooks series, we will ask emerging writers and their collectives to share with us, what it is they do. From critique circles to small-presses, writing sessions to literary booze-ups, we profile all of the wonderful opportunities for writers to find support networks and platforms for their work.

This week, Writers Bloc is doing a bit of self-promotion.

Earlier in May, we hosted our first Write Here event. 17 people spent a beautiful afternoon with their laptops and notepads and scribbled or tapped away at their latest masterpieces.

The Write Here idea is simple, we offer you a place to write without distraction, in the company of other writers. And it’s catching on. After our first Write Here event in Redfern, we’ve expanded to include Parramatta and Dubbo events and we’d love for you to come along. If you’d like to organise a similar event in your home town, let us know and we can help out.

Details for June:

Saturday, June 8 @ 107 Projects, Redfern. Two sessions, 12-2 and 3-5pm

Saturday, June 15 @ Mars Hill Cafe, Parramatta from 10.30am – 1pm

Saturday, June 22 @ Macquarie Library Conference Room, Dubbo from 10.30am – 1.30pm

To RSVP or more details, please see our meet up page or you can email us ([email protected]/wpblog) if you’d like to run a similar event in your hood. We’d love to help.
