About Us
Writers Bloc started as a humble writing group in a bar near Sydney’s Central Station, to one of the largest writing communities online. Since 2013, our editors have nurtured emerging writers and, in many cases, published them for the first time.
Our new website continues our goal of supporting emerging writers with workshops, courses, live events as well as a place for writers to share their work.

Acknowledgement of Country
Writers Bloc started on Gadigal land and we continue our work on the lands of the Wurundjeri-Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin nation and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which many of our community live, read and write.
We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and Elders, past, present and emerging. We recognise sovereignty and enduring First Nations cultures, histories and stories. We celebrate the rich and diverse contributions to the Australian literary landscape and we support First Nation voices. We are committed to fostering a culture of inclusion, respect and reconciliation for all Australians.
