How to Set Up Your Profile on Writers Bloc

Your profile is what you share with the rest of the Writers Bloc community. It’s where you can write a little bit about yourself and what you write, add links to some of your writing or add to your blog, as well as connect with fellow writers and get updates on their work.

Here’s a quick guide to get you started:

Register on Writers Bloc. Press the “Register” button on the homepage or the menu bar. Enter your chosen username, email, and create a secure password.

Activate your account. Check your inbox for an activation email from us. Click the link provided to confirm your account and you’ll be redirected back to Writers Bloc.

Edit your profile. Once you’re logged in, click on your username, then select “Profile” from the menu bar. You’ll find tabs like “Edit,” “Change Profile Photo,” “Change Cover Image,” and “Settings.”

Fill in your profile details. Under the “Edit” tab, you can add your bio. Choose how visible your profile is and set your email notification preferences.

Upload your profile photo. Select a square or portrait shaped photo that you like. The higher the resolution the better.

Select a cover image. Your cover image can really be whatever you like. My friend Maggie’s is a picture of Kate Bush Running Up That Hill. Again, the higher the resolution the better, especially if it’s in landscape dimensions.

Save your changes. Once you’re happy, hit “Save Changes.” You can preview your profile anytime by clicking “View” on the menu bar. You can also come back and update any time.

Making Your Profile Stand Out on Writers Bloc

Your bio. This is entirely up to you and your chance to show people a bit more about you. We reckon Elizabeth Flux had some pretty great advice in her post “We Need to Talk about Your Writer Bio”. Basically, it’s your time to shine.

Highlight your best work. Treat your profile as a curated gallery of your writing. Post your finest pieces, link to your published work, and keep your portfolio fresh and updated.

Engage with the community. Follow other writers, comment on posts, join groups, and participate in discussions. Writers Bloc is way more fun with friends.
