Our Content Director Liam Pieper, on the bright and shiny promise of the new year.

Dear friends, welcome back.

Join us as we big a fond farewell to the raging garbage fire that was 2016, and prepare to face the creative challenges of 2017 with clear-eyes, full hearts, and the steel-panted fortitude of Sting in David Lynch Film.

This year, we're going to help you achieve your literary dreams and make stars out of each and every one of you.

That means our monthly wrap of writing and creative opportunities

Last year we launched Bloc Boost, a personalised career service for creatives, which we heartilty reccomend you check out by clicking here.

We also scoured Australia and the world for the most exhilerating new writing, challenging ideas, and practical advice to reach your creative goals.

In the coming months, we're going to be rolling out a whole new bunch of exciting services, and a new range of digital courses to teach you the finer arts of the finest art ( which is writing, obvs).

Even more exciting than that – for the rest of January, we're taking open pitches for publication in Writers Bloc. We're looking for new writers and fresh and original takes for our rotating columns – click here for details.

We're also open to entirely original pitches and ideas for stories and columns. If you've got an idea for a story, we want to hear from you.

We'll consider any non-fiction story – as long it's connected to creativity and writing, however tangentially. Exactly how tangentially depends entirely on your creativity.

Email editor@thewritersbloc.net with your ideas up until Feb 1, and we'll get back to you ASAP.
