Geoff Orton is a teacher, founder of Writers Bloc and Co-ordinator of the Younger Young Writers’ program at the National Young Writers’ Festival. He’s also a tragic Boston Celtics fan.

Liam Pieper, Content Director

Liam writes, in descending order of frequency: feature articles, short stories and books. His 2014 memoir, The Feelgood Hit of The Year follows his journey from starry-eyed flower child to inept gangster and was shortlisted for the National Biography Award and a Ned Kelly Award. It was followed in 2015 by Mistakes Were Made, a collection of essays and kind-of-sort-of sequel.

Raphaelle Race, Deputy Editor

RR is based in Melbourne and works as a freelance journalist and editor. Her writing can be seen in Overland, Junkee, The Big Issue, Kill Your Darlings, Phantasmagoria and Feminartsy, among others.

Sam Van Zweden, Online Editor

Sam van Zweden was Writers Bloc’s Online Editor. A Melbourne-based writer and blogger, her work has appeared in The Big Issue, Voiceworks, Tincture Journal, Page seventeen, and others. She’s passionate about creative nonfiction and cross stitch. She tweets @lgwabp.

Farz Edraki, Podcast Champion

Farz Edraki is a freelance writer, radio producer and small press publisher who moved to Canberra to study, but stayed for Skywhale. She was once described by Lord Monckton as a “kind and charming radio host”. Then again, he doesn’t believe in climate change, so don’t trust his judgment, check her out for yourself at  www.farzedraki.com. She makes great audio for us.

Patricia Tobin, Social Media

Patricia is Writers Bloc Social Media Manager. Besides lurking on the internet, she contributes theatre and film reviews for ArtsHub and The Essential. She tweets at @havesomepatty

Daniel Farrugia, Designer

Daniel Farrugia is a surfer, a guitarist and one hell of a designer. He makes all our pretty things, as well as being the Design Director at Imagination.

Amy Maynard, Tumblr Editor

Amy Louise Maynard is a sardonic Southerner and editor of the Writers Bloc Tumblr, Hell Yeah Writers Bloc. She is the co-organiser of the annual Inkers and Thinkers Symposium, and the 2014 SA State Representative for Express Media. Her spirit animal is Paul Giamatti. Emma Koehn, Reviews Editor

Emma Koehn is a writer and editor from Melbourne. She once tried, unsuccessfully, to build a fort out of magazines. Now she just sticks to reading them. She tweets from @MsEmmaK and sources and edits fantastic lit mag reviews for us.
